Maximum sheet size: 29 1/2 x 41"

Blind Embossure presses a textured design right into the paper, introducing a third dimension without the use of ink or foils. The effect is especially nice with intricate designs and in large areas. Embossure is a good way to spruce up an old logo without making a drastic change. Embossing dies can be used many times before they wear out, so if you plan well in regard to it's size, you can use the same die on several projects to offset costs. Embossing raises the surface of the paper to create a smooth-to-textured contrast. Debossing is the reverse of embossing; the design is concave instead of convex. Embossing on a textured paper smoothes the surface of the design area for a very different visual and tactile effect.

Heat and pressure  are applied during the embossing process. Male and/or female dies are created in the design desired. A die where all the elements of the design are etched on a single level is the least expensive; it is created in a single-step process. A multi-level die is created in a process of two or more steps, employing bevels, simple curves, or standard textures to enhance the design. A sculptured die is most expensive, employing a process of several steps and a large amount of sculpture done by hand. It takes a skilled craftsman to create a sculptured die, but the effect is unmatched by any other process. The design has varying levels of depth and many interesting shadows and highlights.

Good results with embossure require careful attention to the paper's weight, texture, and color to achieve the effect you are looking for. When we know the desired effects you want, we can recommend the appropriate type of die

Embossing can be done without heat on our larger presses up to 28 1/2" x 42 1/2. With heat, which gives the best result, largest press is 22" x 31".
